- Lead an international research group in Computer Vision, sustained by competitive research and innovation funding
- Lead and develop excellent research and technology transfer creating impact at national and international levels
- Define and lead strategic research areas creating societal impact in Luxembourg
- Lead the definition, acquisition, and management of research projects spanning long-term research to demand driven innovation projects from diverse sources, partnerships, European/International/National research agencies
- Advise and support PhD candidates in their thesis research
- Teach courses at bachelor and master level in relevant fields such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, neural networks, computer vision or image analysis and coordinate the teaching activities of the group
- Build and manage strategic relationships with international/industrial/public partners
- Disseminate scientific results in top conferences/journals
- Establish systematic and structured approach to knowledge transfer through collaborative research with private and public sector actors
- Take responsibility for all aspects of the research strategy, operations and management
- A PhD in Computer Science, Engineering or Applied Mathematics with over 15 years of experience after the PhD
- Documented research expertise in various topics in Computer Vision, including 3D Computer Vision, shape representation, CAD data analysis, deepfake detection, space sensing, data fusion, pose estimation, EdgeAI
- Extensive experience in creating and leading research teams and mentoring PhD/postdoc researchers
- Proven leadership responsibilities in managing research strategy and industrial partnerships
- Experience in successful research project acquisition from diverse and competitive sources
- Excellent publication record in top-tier journals and conferences
