Mechanical Design Engineer - Lightweight Structures

• Designing lightweight mechanical components for demanding applications, including use in high-end industrial and aerospace environments.
• Creating tooling, fixtures, and purpose-built equipment for a robotic composite manufacturing process.
• Supporting process development by contributing to mechanical solutions that enhance reliability, precision, and manufacturability.
• Interpreting customer needs and converting them into robust engineering concepts and deliverables.
• Producing detailed 3D models, drawings, technical documentation, and BOMs in line with engineering best practice.
• Collaborating with production, quality and R&D teams to ensure seamless design-to-manufacture integration.

• Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years experience in a mechanical design role.
• Strong experience designing composite structures and/or mechanical equipment.
• Good understanding of stress calculations, structural behaviour, and manufacturing constraints.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks (experience with SolidWorks PDM is beneficial).
• Fluency in English.
• Programming skills (Python, VBA, or similar).
• Experience in the space, aeronautics, or advanced composites industry.
• Knowledge of automated or robotic manufacturing processes.
