The successful candidate will join the Computer Vision, machine Intelligence and Imaging (CVI²) research group ( ) headed by Prof. Djamila Aouada to conduct exciting research with high impact in collaboration with multiple stakeholders. He/she will help in shaping research directions within a European project involving multiple interdisciplinary partners. He/she will perform the following tasks:
- Shaping research directions and producing results. Topics include but are not limited to:
- Anomaly detection and pattern recognition in visual data
- Multimodal fusion
- Thermal imaging
- Unsupervised and self-supervised learning
- Data simulation and synthesis
- Disseminating results through scientific publications
- Collaborating with multiple project stakeholders from a large European consortium
- Carry out high-impact research within an interdisciplinary context
- Coordinating research projects and delivering outputs
- Participating in writing proposals
- Participating to the teaching activities
- Implementing real-time solutions
- Providing guidance to PhD and MSc students
- Organizing relevant workshops and demonstrations
- A PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics or a related field
- Competitive research record in Computer Vision, preferably with publications at top-tier CV/ML conferences/journals (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, TPAMI, etc.)
- A previous experience in European projects would be a plus
- Strong development skills in Python
- Strong mathematical background
- Ability to work in an interdisciplinary context
- Broad experience with machine learning algorithms and deep learning concepts
- Commitment, team working, and a critical mind
- Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English are mandatory
