- Architect for the future PET Molding System.
- Identify and quantify relationships between application, machine/mold/melt delivery hardware, process parameters and part quality attributes, through design of experiments on pilot and production scale equipment.
- Experimental development of new hardware or processing strategies that improve system performance and quality
- Deepening Husky’s scientific knowledge of injection molding processing and technology
- Identify and adapt evolutions in key technologies, applications and market trends to maintain the competitive advantage of Husky products
- Data-driven scientific approach: First principles research, scientific relationships and numerical analyses to better interpret and predict poorly understood physical phenomena (causation vs. correlation)
- Develop end-to-end solutions in collaborating with business development teams and our customers
- Work closely with a team of cross-functional domain experts in Product Development and Validation teams to integrate innovations and new technologies into practical solutions
- Technical lead for projects, managing project timelines, resources and budgets
- Mechanical or Chemical Engineering degree; master’s or PhD preferred
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in related industries
- Polymer processing experience in injection molding, blow molding, extrusion, or related industries is required.
- Understanding injection molding concepts, system operation, processing is an asset.
- Knowledge of rheology and polymer properties of commonly used resins for injection molding is required. Advanced knowledge of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) is an asset.
- Ability to translate customer needs into innovative, commercially viable solutions using Husky’s technology suite
- Experience applying scientific methodologies, data analysis, and machine learning tools to solve practical technical challenges
- Background in application and technology development as well as generating new IP
- Excellent communication skills in English (verbal, written, and presentation)
- Strong technical leadership skills, including the ability to motivate, coach and mentor team members is an asset
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, progressive team environment with opportunities for advancement
- Strong time and project management skills, with ability to manage multiple priorities and delegate tasks effectively.
- Ability to travel internationally (approximately 10%)
