Job Description:AME LP is the Long Product segment of ArcelorMittal with a leading presence in Europe. We operate a network of 11 steel plants across the continent and are committed to delivering high-quality steel products to our worldwide customers base. As part of our growth strategy, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Central Logistics to lead and optimize our logistics operations and represent the business in the central Purchasing Organization.Position Summary: As the Head of Central Logistics, you will play a pivotal role in identifying cost effective solutions and in advancing the logistics across our 11 steel plants in Europe. You will also act as the primary business representative in the central Purchasing Organization, ensuring that our procurement efforts align with our strategic goals. This position offers a unique opportunity to lead a critical function within our organization, drive efficiency, and contribute to our overall success.Key Responsibilities: * Strategic Leadership:
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive logistics and supply chain strategy aligned with the company's objectives and strengthen the service to our customers.
  • Mentor and challenge the high-performing Logistics teams across various plant locations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce costs and enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of logistics operations.
  • Central Logistics Management:
  • Support local Supply Chain managers in Optimizing transportation routes, modes, and carriers to reduce costs and improve delivery times
  • Understand and document Product and Customer constraints.
  • Identify cross functional optimization and cost cutting opportunities
  • Purchasing Organization Representation:
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the Business and the central Purchasing Organization.
  • Advocate for the Mills' interests in procurement negotiations, contracts, and supplier relationships.
  • Collaborate with the procurement team to align purchasing strategies with the broader business objectives
  • Performance Metrics and Reporting:
  • Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure costs and effectiveness of our logistics.
  • Monitor and analyse logistics data to identify areas for improvement and cost savings.
  • Provide regular reports and insights to the executive team on logistics and procurement performance
  • Compliance and Risk Management:
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, safety standards, and industry best practices.
  • Implement risk mitigation strategies related to logistics and supply chain disruptions
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (7+ years) in logistics and supply chain management, with a track record of leadership and success.
  • Strong knowledge of international logistics, transportation modes, and supply chain optimization.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and implement logistics and procurement strategies.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and supply chain software/tools.
  • Ability to travel as needed to various plant locations and participate in international meetings

These products deliver a very important part of the Ebitda for Long Products and are also sold through technical marketing input.We have a very smart, motivated and experienced Sales team with very good access to customers. Customer surveys have consistently shown a positive perception of our Sales network by the customers. In addition, the wide range of products, multiple production locations and global market presence is a unique strength of ArcelorMittal which is unmatched by any competitor.The challenge is, on the one hand to maximise sales and on the other hand to maintain our technical and service leadership.In the other products, the aim is to manage pricing in a volatile and oversupplied market so that the mills are fully loaded at the best prices that are possible in a rapidly changing market environment.The Business Divisions (BDs) are responsible for the sales in their domestic markets and my Central CMO team is active in the export markets.In the area of Marketing, product mix enrichment is our focus. Increasing the content of high margin products in the mix by developing strong positions in high value market segments is the objective we are constantly working on, together with the Sales, Mills and R&D.In addition, we are also managing the annual business planning and strategy exercises. Helping the sales network to reduce cost and increase productivity is another Central CMO team is working on. This involves monitoring costs and also to drive the development of processes and IT tools to make the sales function more efficient.
