- Assist in the preparation, execution and follow-up of regular workplace safety inspections and audits.
- Contribute to the establishment of risk assessments (e.g. chemical, biological, ergonomic) and support their follow-up, including updating inventories and documentation.
- Help coordinate the application of preventive and protective measures as defined by the Head of OHS, OHS Officer, or Biosafety Officer.
- Participate in the deployment of safety signage, PPE (personal protective equipment), and (bio)safety-related materials (e.g. gloves, goggles, lab-specific items).
- Initiate and follow up on purchase orders related to OHS and biosafety supplies and services (e.g. PPE, signage, technical interventions).
- Track and process OHS-related invoices in coordination with the Finance and Procurement teams.
- Coordinate waste management activities (chemical, biological, general) with external certified providers and ensure proper segregation and documentation.
- Assist in organizing and following up on biosafety committee meetings and delegate activities.
- Assist in maintaining OHS and biosafety documentation and databases (e.g. inventory of hazardous materials, vaccination records, training logs, inspection reports).
- Support documentation and reporting of OHS and biosafety incidents, accidents, and near misses.
- Help coordinate regulatory notifications and follow-ups in the scope of OHS activities, such as the use of biological or hazardous material (in collaboration with the Biosafety Officer), COMMODO INCOMMODO, waste reports, etc.
- Support the implementation of actions resulting from incident investigations.
- Coordinate administration and logistics for internal and external OHS and biosafety-related training sessions, in cooperation with the Human Resources department (e.g. scheduling, attendance tracking, training certificates).
- Support internal communication campaigns to raise awareness of health and safety (e.g. posters, newsletters, intranet updates).
- Assist during drills, simulations, or emergency preparedness exercises.
- Maintain and organize OHS documentation according to legal requirements and internal procedures.
- Monitor inventories and tracking systems for safety equipment and materials (e.g. fire extinguishers, first aid kits).
- Liaise with internal stakeholders and external service providers for operational health and safety tasks.
- Technical diploma (Bachelor, BTS, DUT, or equivalent) in Occupational Safety, Environment, Facilities Management, or a related discipline. Knowledge of biology or biosafety would be an asset.
- First experience in a similar role in occupational health and safety or technical operations is an advantage. Work experience in a laboratory environment and/or a regulated environment (e.g. ISO 9001 certified) is a plus.
- Understanding of Luxembourgish health and safety regulations and workplace safety practices.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office and basic data tracking tools.
- Practical knowledge of safety procedures, tools, and personal protective equipment.
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and hands-on.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Able to prioritize and follow through on multiple operational tasks.
- Proactive and service-minded.
- Must speak and write French and English fluently. Luxembourg and/or German are an asset.
- First level Qualification as “Travailleur Désigné” recognized by Luxembourg authorities is a plus
- Experience in the implementation and maintenance of an occupational health & safety management system
- “Hands-on” capacities; i.e. being able to implement safety / security solutions on your own
