We look for researchers from diverse academic backgrounds to contribute to our projects in areas such as: Network Security, Information Assurance, Model-driven Security, Cloud Computing, Cryptography, Satellite Systems, Vehicular Networks, and ICT Services & Applications.Your roleThe successful candidates will join the Computer Vision, Machine Intelligence and Imaging (CVI2) research group, led by Prof. Djamila Aouada, to conduct research in Artificial Intelligence with a primary focus on Computer Vision, pattern recognition, and visual generative modeling. Multiple positions are available. CVI2 offers the opportunity to contribute to a diverse portfolio of projects, including collaborations with industrial partners as well as national and international academic initiatives. These projects span the full research and development lifecycle, requiring large-scale experimentation, real-time system implementation, data acquisition and curation, preprocessing, model training, validation, and rigorous performance evaluation. CVI2 is a dynamic, fast-growing research group composed of highly motivated, active members. The group benefits from advanced research infrastructure, including the Computer Vision Lab, equipped with state-of-the-art visual sensors and acquisition systems, and the Zero-G Lab, a unique facility designed to emulate proximity operations under space-like conditions. In addition, CVI2 provides high-performance GPU computing resources that support the design and training of advanced AI models. The research agenda of CVI2 focuses on cutting-edge topics such as 3D understanding and generation, media forensics, anomaly detection, multimodal learning with an emphasis on vision-language models, and computer vision applied to space applications.Key responsabilities:
- Develop novel research directions aligned with CVI2’s research priorities
- Propose and implementing innovative, concrete solutions and delivering impactful results
- Disseminate results through scientific publications and/or patents
- Provide support in setting up and running experiments
- Participate in proposal writing
- Develop and deploying real-time AI solutions
- Participate in organizing relevant workshops and demonstrations
- Participate in outreach activities to promote CVI2’s research activities and citizen science
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or a closely related field
- Strong background in image/signal processing, and in particular, computer vision
- Strong programming skills in Python/C/C++/MATLAB
- Familiarity with machine learning and deep learning concepts
- Experience with at least one of the following deep learning frameworks: TensorFlow, PyTorch
- Experience with topics closely related or directly aligned with CVI2’s research priorities would be an asset
- Strong background in applied mathematics
- Capacity to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic research environment
