- Concept, implementation and evaluation of procedures for secure and GDPR-compliant communication for modern network topologies and applications, as for example quantum networks
- Development of suitable demonstrations
- Integration and validation of new algorithms
- Participation in the definition and implementation of new research questions in computer networks at the intersection of physics and computer science
- Cooperation and knowledge transfer with industrial partners
- Coordination and participation in research projects
- Publication of scientific results
- Doctorate in computer science, physics, electrical engineering, mathematics, or a related discipline
- Sound knowledge of at least one high-level programming language (e.g. Java, C/C++) and one scripting language (e.g. Perl, Python)
- Knowledge of Linux/Unix
- Knowledge of quantum networking, data mining, machine learning, statistics and visualization are considered as an advantage
- Excellent oral and written English skills
- Communication skills and talents in teamwork
