- Formulate and Explore Spin-off Opportunities: Work autonomously to identify and explore spin-off opportunities arising from breakthrough research and technology insights within the LIST ecosystem.
- Review and Assess Business Potential: Evaluate internal research and innovation projects to assess their business potential and alignment with LIST's strategic objectives.
- Manage Spin-off Launch: Lead the preparation and launch of spin-off ventures in collaboration with researchers and external stakeholders, including private equity firms, venture capitalists, entrepreneurs, and business angels.
- Intellectual Property Management: Identify opportunities for intellectual property protection and support in developing strategies for IP management.
- Support Strategic Functions: Provide support to various strategic functions such as finance, sales, marketing, and technology to ensure the growth of spin-off ventures in their early stages.
- Advisory Role: Advise and support researchers in defining and implementing selling strategies, financial management, and fundraising efforts for spin-off ventures.
- Promotion and Communication: Develop and implement communication strategies to promote spin-off ventures and attract potential investors and partners.
- Networking and Relationship Building: Identify and engage with potential investors, accelerator partners, and entrepreneurs to build a network supportive of LIST ventures.
- Technology Transfer: Attract entrepreneurs to LIST technologies and facilitate technology transfer processes.
- Bac+5, relevant master's degree
- Relevant Experience in Startup Management: Demonstrated experience in managing and leading startup ventures, with a track record of success in navigating the challenges and opportunities inherent in the startup ecosystem.
- Technology Translation Expertise: Proven ability to translate cutting-edge research and technology into viable business ventures, with a keen understanding of the commercialization process and market dynamics.
- Entrepreneurial Mindset: A proactive and forward-thinking approach, coupled with a willingness to take calculated risks and explore new opportunities in pursuit of entrepreneurial endeavours.
- Results Orientation: Strong results-driven mentality with a demonstrated ability to deliver on objectives and drive projects to successful outcomes.
- Business Acumen: Deep understanding of all aspects of business, including intellectual property, research and development, finance, manufacturing, marketing, and sales, with a keen sense for value creation.
- Financial Judgment: Proficiency in key startup metrics and financial analysis, with the ability to make sound financial judgments and strategic decisions.
- Stakeholder Communication: Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders, including researchers, investors, partners, and customers.
- Team Collaboration: A collaborative and team-oriented approach, with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
- Marketing and Selling Strategies: Capacity to develop and implement relevant marketing and selling strategies to promote startup ventures and drive business growth.
- Legal Documentation: Comfortable working with legal documentation, including shareholder agreements, IP licensing, contracts, and non-disclosure agreements, with a keen attention to detail.
- Proficient in English as a business language; knowledge of French or German will be considered an asset, given our location and international collaborations.
