Our client is seeking a motivated individual to take lead on their tax operations in Luxembourg and not only. The right candidate would be actively involved in complex tax matters, particularly around key matters such as the implementation of investment structures, analysis of minor changes and vendor due diligence.

Function information
Your Responsibilities

Core part of the work:
  • To be the main point of contact between the Tax team on a group level, internal Controllers and The Big Four Advisors
  • Manage direct and indirect tax filings to ensure deadlines are met for all SPVs across all relevant jurisdictions
  • Responsible for the filing tracker and produce weekly annotated updates
  • First point of contact for Company's Controllers for technical tax queries, escalating any complex
matters
  • Implement and improve documentation and controls processes for direct and indirect tax return preparation, sign off and filing
Direct and Indirect Tax Compliance
  • Support internal teams in reviewing periodic and annual CIT and VAT declarations and tax provisions, prepared by Big Four Advisors with ad-hoc support regarding any CIT and VAT issues.
  • Support Group liaising with tax authorities and reviewing tax assessment notices
  • Keep a log of all correspondence with tax authorities for weekly sharing with the CFO
  • Manage periodic tax payments and ensure they are made in a timely manner, minimising interest and penalties
  • Ensure knowledge is kept up to date and proactively seek training in relevant tax matters when necessary. Assist with training colleagues in finance
Other Responsibilities
  • Capture, organise and present data relating to key information concerning investment structures. Work with a Group to understand the implications of relevant trends and take steps to make improvements
  • Strong organisational skills required to manage processes for filing and archiving tax documents and handling incoming and outgoing mail related to tax, being continuously mindful of various deadlines related to each deal/SPV
  • Have a process improvement mindset and willing to operate in a fully controlled environment
  • Responsible for handling payments and signatures for tax documents
  • Work with finance and legal teams to document tax advice and correspondence in case of challenge by the tax authority and to inform thinking in future
  • Occasionally handling general administrative tasks
Requirements
Your Profile
  • You hold a Bachelor's degree in legal/finance/tax area
  • You have at least 5-7 years of relevant experience
  • You are fluent in written and spoken English
  • You have strong analytical skills and are highly logical
  • Self-starter and able to work on own initiative
  • Able to confidently and effectively communicate complex matters with all relevant parties and escalate issues accordingly e.g. Company's employees, The Big Four Advisors, Group Tax team
  • You are well-organised and can meet required deadlines
  • You are dedicated to delivering a high quality of work
