The Financial Controller is responsible for overseeing all financial operations of the organization, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and supporting strategic decision-making.
You will lead the local finance team, overseeing accounting, reporting, audit, tax compliance, and ad hoc financial activities. You will operate with a high degree of autonomy and act as a backup to the Finance Manager.What you'll do
- Oversee day-to-day bookkeeping for the head office and its branches
- Manage month-end and year-end closing processes and ensure reporting deadlines are met
- Review team outputs and provide hands-on support when needed (e.g., journals, analyses, memos)
- Ensure accuracy of local GAAP trial balances and financial statements, including consolidation adjustments
- Maintain integrity of the general ledger, account reconciliations, and reporting packages
- Prepare technical accounting documentation (e.g., memos under various GAAP frameworks)
- Contribute to management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
- Develop and maintain finance procedures and documentation
- Liaise with internal stakeholders (e.g., operations, payroll, treasury) and external parties (e.g., banks, clients, service providers)
- Coordinate with external providers for statutory accounts preparation and filings
- Act as main point of contact for internal and external audits
- Address audit findings and propose corrective actions
- Support or lead regulatory reporting requirements as needed
- Collaborate with tax advisors to ensure timely compliance and filings
- Review tax returns and oversee tax payments/refunds
- Monitor tax compliance across branches
- Strong financial and analytical skills with high attention to detail
- Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving abilities

- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Collaborative and team-oriented mindset
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field
- Professional accounting qualification (completed or in progress) preferred
- Significant experience (approx. 8-10+ years) in accounting, reporting, or controlling roles
- Experience managing end-to-end financial closing and reporting processes
- Knowledge of local GAAP and IFRS preferred
- Industry experience in financial services is a plus
- Fluency in English required; additional languages are an advantage
- Proficiency in MS Office tools
