- Draft, review and negotiate a wide variety of commercial contracts, including contracts with operators in the telecommunications and media sector (eg distributors, platforms, studios…), with a business approach.
- Provide legal advice to CANAL+ Benelux & Central Europe management and to CANAL+ Group in relation to various projects and campaigns.
- Manage litigations (instruct outside counsel, review submissions, etc.)
- Manage relationships with countries regulatory authorities, handle core regulatory issues and act as contact person in all regulatory related matters.
- Provide legal advice and guidance in the field of consumer protection law and trade practices, data protection, media law and copyright.
- Support and advice in respect of customer complaints
- Keep the company's corporate books and records and ensure the corporate secretariat of the BeNeLux and Swiss companies.
- Manage filing and document retention as required.
- Provide general legal support to CANAL+ Benelux & Central Europe entities and more globally to CANAL+ Group, in close collaboration with legal team members.
- Follow-up on the evolution of the laws in the countries and within the EU within the scope of responsibility.
- Work in close collaboration with CANAL+ Group Legal department to ensure consistency, Group policy compliance and synergies.
- You have a Dutch and/or a Belgian law degree; Knowledge of Swiss legal framework would be an additional asset.
- You are fluent in Dutch, French and English (the knowledge of any other language spoken in the countries served by Canal+ Benelux & Central Europe will be considered an advantage).
- You have 4 to 6 years of previous experience, preferably in a law firm, practicing general commercial law. Previous experience in media law, telecoms and comparable environment will be considered a plus.
- You have a keen interest in AI, new technologies and media developments.
- You are business oriented; you have a generalist approach to law and are willing to tackle all legal issues.
- Being autonomous, you are able to work as part of a team and leverage on Group synergies as and when required.
- You pay attention to detail and quality.
- You are well organized, hands-on and self-starter, ready to dive into matters.
- You are commercial and pragmatic, close to business.
- You remain calm under pressure and are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where meeting strict deadlines is essential.
- Based in Luxembourg, you are willing to travel occasionally to other European destinations as required by the company.
