Job DescriptionThe Commitment Manager will be accountable for ensuring the customer commitment by Husky for Rigid Packaging System(s) is identified, tracked, communicated and managed, with issues resolved on a timely basis, from quote development (opportunity at 50% or 75% level) to signed acceptance by the customer at their factory.
The incumbent will ensure that the customer required date (CRD) for the Rigid Packaging System(s) is defined and communicated by the customer to Husky, the Husky team understands the committed date to the customer, and the cross functional teams proactively identifies and resolves issues during the implementation process so that customer delivery and production expectations are met by Husky.
For the achievement of this mean, the Commitment Manager will interface directly with the customers and all customer functions, such as Technical, Commercial, Legal and Logistics for the proper achievement of the project plan and the reach of the Customer Required Date (CRD). Based on the complexity and experience of the Customer, this might require Customer on site visit and building of the project plan together.Responsibilities
  • Ensure the risk assessment process is completed, including technical, commercial and logistics to proactively identify project risk at the earliest possible stage.
  • Work with all needed Husky departments (Solutioning, Commercials, Logistics, Customs, others) for the development of the end to end project timeline and the achievement of the Customer Required Date (CRD)
  • Develop key milestones and ensure agreement with the customer of all Customer related key steps from Opportunity to Commitment Delivered for the achievement of the CRD
  • Develop the cross functional implementation project plan, and conduct the internal Husky commitment meeting to ensure alignment of the milestones
  • Conduct a cross functional kickoff meeting with the customer, which includes confirmation of key contacts, key milestones and responsibilities, action items to be address by both parties
  • Define, communicate and follow up all necessary actions and milestones needed for the achievement of milestones and ultimately the Customer Required Date (CRD), within Husky departments and as well at Customer for the Customer milestones
  • Hold accountable all Husky and Customer departments are reaching the defined, agreed and communicated milestones
  • Ensure all necessary actions internally are performed for the proper achievement of the project plan
  • Conduct internal and external/customer project management meetings as required to ensure all milestone dates are met and the customer commitment is delivered on the expected date.
  • In case of deviation of the project plan, take immediately the lead of all necessary countermeasure actions needed for the achievement of the milestones and CRD
  • Coordinate with the customer and internal Husky stakeholders the testing of RP System at the Husky plant with the Customer. Ensure the customer visit occurs according to the agreed upon timeline with sign off by the customer for shipment
  • Ensure startup testing and first production is completed to customer expectations and the customer has approved/signed-off on the startup
  • Close the loop on the O2CD process, debrief with commitment team, and ensure the customer satisfaction assessment is completed in a timely manner.
Qualifications
  • Engineering degree or equivalent experience
  • Urgent/Important - Demonstrates the ability to distinguish between urgent and important activities while primarily focusing on non-urgent/important tasks, while multitasking both predictable and unpredictable activities. Anticipates and resolves risks and potential issues before they arise or before they escalate to a highly urgent matter.
  • Project Planning - Demonstrates the ability to build, deliver, manage and follow up related to a project plan, including holding internal and external stakeholders accountable to deliver key milestones
  • Communication – Ability to identify and communicate effectively with all levels of the customer and Husky organizations, with active listening, positive perspective and empathy.
  • Attention to Detail - Demonstrates a understand and master granular level details while extracting the essence and key points of the issue and solutions for executive and customer level presentations/interactions.
  • Scope Changes - Ability to identify scope changes, then exhibit the agility to adapt to changing situations while maintaining the ability to achieve the overall objectives and timelines of the project, with effective stakeholder interaction and the capability to escalate in a timely manner.
  • Resilience - Demonstrates the ability to exhibit resilience and grit when facing issues, and the ability to pursue countermeasures as solutions, which move the project back on track.
  • Negotiation - Ability to convince, persuade, and reach agreement through negotiation, while resolving high conflict situations in an amicable manner with all parties (initial setting of the project plan and during execution of the plan).
  • Commercial – Exhibits a strong working knowledge of different types of transport (bill of lading, incoterms, mode), different financing solutions, including LCs, bank guarantees.
  • Logistics - Understands the different types of shipping documents and the specificity related to individual countries, including Husky export requirements and customer import requirements, plus timing of required documents.
  • Technical - Understands the products and system components, key inputs to the system design (e.g., preform), understands the impact of application changes on the work plan, impact on commitment and timelines, with the ability to engage subject matter experts at the appropriate time to address the issues and needs of the customer.
  • Fluent English
  • Spoken languages of the supported regions (EMEA and SAARC) will be considered an asset
