As a major player in Luxembourg's finance industry and as a signatory of the UN Principles of Responsible Banking, BIL is committed to handing over a responsible and sustainable bank to future generations.Your MissionWithin the Credit Risk department, you will analyze credit requests for Corporate and Institutional customers and conduct their annual reviews. This activity will be performed within the framework of the Bank policies / procedures and the respect of the regulatory environment.
“3 lines of defence” model: Within Risk Management department, you will be part of the second line of defence (alongside Compliance department) which provides rules, policies and guidelines for the first line of defence, i.e. the teams directly working with our clients. The third line of defence, through our internal audit team, makes sure that the first two lines are in line with legal requirements of our supervisors and the risk appetite of the Bank.Your next challenge:
  • You assess the risks associated with counterparties and proposed transactions, and formulate a clear, well-argued opinion to support decision-making by the relevant credit authorities.
  • You demonstrate strong proficiency in analyzing financial statements and possess solid knowledge of economics and finance, enabling you to produce internal credit ratings.
  • You review profit & loss accounts, balance sheets, cash flow projections, and business plans, and are capable of challenging assumptions made by company management or the Front Office.
  • You collaborate closely with Front Officers, providing support in structuring and preparing comprehensive credit proposals.
  • You draft detailed credit files and can actively participate in credit committees to present and defend your risk assessments.
  • You have a sound understanding of IFRS 9 staging principles and their practical application.
  • You ensure strict compliance with internal credit risk policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
Your skills:
  • You hold a Master's degree in Corporate Finance, Management, or a related field.
  • You have a solid initial experience in credit analysis or in a front-office/structuring role within corporate financing.
  • You have a good understanding of banking products tailored to Corporate or Institutional clients.
  • You are fluent in both French and English; proficiency in German is considered a strong asset.
  • You are comfortable with standard business tools; familiarity with T24, Salesforce, and Microsoft Office Suite is a plus.
  • You are detail-oriented, analytical, and possess excellent writing and summarizing skills.
