MFM Lux’s core activities cover the management, administration and marketing of UCITS and AIFs and, under applicable UCITS/AIFMD derogations transposed into Luxembourg law, it may also provide discretionary portfolio management to institutional clients.The role sits within the EMEA Controllers team, which supports its assigned legal entities through strong governance, financial oversight and timely, decision-useful insights for senior stakeholders.As MFM Luxembourg Controller, the role owns day-to-day oversight of the management company’s and its branches’ accounting and financial reporting, ensuring outputs are accurate, timely and compliant with Lux GAAP, IFRS and US GAAP, as well as relevant BNY policies.In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:
  • Own day‑to‑day accounting and financial reporting for the Luxembourg management company and its branches
  • Ensure accurate, timely reporting under Lux GAAP, IFRS, US GAAP, CSSF requirements, and BNY policies
  • Oversee month‑end close, including issue identification, escalation, and resolution
  • Review outputs from the regional shared services centre and ensure quality and consistency
  • Prepare and review statutory financial statements, management accounts, and finance‑related regulatory filings
  • Analyse monthly variances and provide clear, decision‑useful commentary
  • Monitor financial performance and report to senior management, committees, and Boards
  • Maintain internal controls, support risk management, and drive remediation where needed
  • Act as primary finance contact for auditors, tax advisers, regulators, and internal stakeholders
  • Support systems and process improvements and coach junior team members
To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:
  • Qualified accountant with several years’ post‑qualification experience
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge (Lux GAAP, IFRS, US GAAP)
  • Financial services background, ideally investment management
  • Experience with statutory and regulatory reporting in Luxembourg
  • Proven experience operating in a highly regulated, multinational environment
  • Prior people management or supervisory experience; Oracle GL exposure preferred
