Our client is a leading supplier of software products in the field of eCustoms internationally.The company supplies software products and IT services to European Union Institutions and Agencies, international organisations and national government administrations.The company employs over 1100 engineers, IT experts and consultants.
The group’s staff is multilingual and multinational with in-depth experience in the delivery of services to the government sector worldwide.Currently we are looking for a skilled Ontology & Semantic Technologies Expert to join the team as a long-term Contractor (B2B) / Freelancer.Based in Luxembourg, working mode: Hybrid.If you are seeking a career in an exciting and dynamic company, where you will offer your services as part of a team of a major European Institution, operating in an international, multilingual and multicultural environment where you can expect real chances to make a difference.Tasks
  • Design and Improve Ontologies: Create and refine semantic models, adopting well-established vocabularies to ensure clarity and interoperability;
  • Shape Systems at the Conceptual Level: Define specifications for system creation, harmonization, and optimization, with emphasis on data protection, content negotiation, and monitoring;
  • Guide Implementation and Migratio:n Develop strategies, test plans, and contribute to standardization efforts (ELI, DCAT-AP);
  • Keep Systems Running Smoothly: Monitor and troubleshoot Semantic Web applications in production.
  • Bridge Tech and Business Align semantic solutions with business goals, engaging stakeholders and measuring real-world impact;
  • Be a Knowledge Leader Share expertise on trends, train colleagues, present recommendations, and contribute to knowledge transfer;
  • Stay Ahead of the Curve Represent the company in conferences, workshops, and webinars, continuously learning and applying the latest advances.
Requirements
  • University degree in IT or a relevant discipline
  • 4 years of relevant professional experience;
  • At least 3 years of experience in a software development environment;
  • At least 3 years of experience in RDF and RDF-S;
  • At least 2 years of experience in OWL 2, RDF serialization formats (RDFa, Turtle, RDF/XML and JSON-LD), Triple stores (Virtuoso or equivalent) and SPARQL 1.0/1.1;
  • At least 2 years of experience in Java (Java SE, Java EE, EJB, Applet, etc.) or Python;
  • At least 2 years of experience in Linux;
  • At least 2 years of experience in databases and querying (e.g. Oracle, SQL,Elastic Search, Mongo DB, Neo4j);
  • At least 1 year of experience in OWL-DL;
  • At least 1 year of experience in XML;
  • At least 1 year of experience in Microsoft Windows 7 and higher;
  • At least 1 year of experience in monitoring tools(e.g. ELK, Dynatrace);
  • At least 1 year of experience in version management tools (e.g. SVN, Bitbucket);
  • At least 1 year of experience in issue Tracking System (e.g. JIRA), Collaborative system (e.g. Confluence) and Microsoft Office 365;
  • At least 1 year of experience in Cloud-native and distributed systems(e.g. API Gateway, REST, Azure, Docker, Kubernetes);
  • Excellent command of the English language.
